    Day 1

On the first day, we were grouped with two need-knower children, Pema and Ngawang. Pema has ataxia, and Ngawang was born with cerebral palsy. As we communicated with them, we discovered their keen interest in typing over writing on paper due to fine motor challenges. While Pema managed typing well, Ngawang faced difficulties coordinating his finger muscles. As our conversation continued, we also learned about their passion for PC gaming. However, their fine motor challenges made it difficult for them to press keystrokes manually. This led to the idea of GamSis—a joystick designed to make gaming easier and more enjoyable for them. We went through multiple design iterations, refining and improving the joystick to meet their needs. Our goal was to ensure that GamSis was not only functional but also comfortable and accessible, allowing Pema and Ngawang to fully enjoy their gaming experience.
